Programme Overview

The Obafemi Awolowo Future Leaders Fellowship Programme is a highly selective, merit-based initiative inspired by the enduring legacy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. It is built for young leaders who demonstrate principled governance, intellectual rigour, and a commitment to human development.

Fellows engage in collaborative learning, mentorship, and leadership practice that prepares them to shape a more inclusive, prosperous future across Africa and the diaspora.

Programme Structure

  • Commencement: October 4, 2026
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Schedule: Saturdays, 6:00pm – 10:00pm (Nigeria Time, WAT – UTC+1)
  • Format: Virtual sessions, interactive workshops, mentorship, and cohort collaboration
  • Commitment: 4 hours per week

Programme Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Age 20-35 years
  • From Africa, the Caribbean, or the African diaspora
  • Show strong leadership potential, integrity, and service orientation
  • Be available for the full programme duration
